This series of images was taken in the Berkshire Mountains of western Massachusetts in September of 2003. They feature a woodland study of mid-morning natural light, captured by a wide open 50 mm lens. The focus is tight. If you take a breath you can smell the earthy dampness of the air, that mid-morning coolness before the sun heats up the forest floor. |
